Sydney Harbour Sprint Series – November 11 Race Report
The second round of the Sydney Harbour Sprint Series on November 11 was a lively affair with a 15-20 knot north-easterly on a sunny afternoon in The Sound.
In Division 1, Brent Lawson’s Farr 40 Bluetack and David Ross’ Cape 31 Kukukerchu shared the line honours, but Ian Box’s XP44 Toy Box 2 joined the other two with race wins on ORC, IRC and PHS. After another round of three races today, Toy Box 2 leads the ORC pointscore from Bluetack and Kukukerchu. On IRC, Toy Box 2 is ahead of Bluetack and Rob Carr’s King 40 Jambo. On PHS, it is Toy Box 2 from Bluetack and then Bob Cox’s DK46 Nine Dragons.
In Division 2, Jack Stening and Colin Gunn’s Sydney 36 Stormaway again claimed race wins on ORC, PHS and made a clean sweep on IRC. Neil Padden’s Beneteau 40.7 Wailea was best on PHS in the first race of the day and Tracy Richardson’s Adams 10 Artemis scored well on ORC. After six races, Wailea leads Garth Riley’s Adams 10 Sirius and Artemis on PHS. On ORC it is Artemis from Wailea and Stormaway. On IRC, Stormaway and Wailea are currently on equal points.
Many thanks to all the race management volunteers for some great racing today and to Marg Fraser-Martin for the outstanding photos.
