Spring Series Race 10 Report & Gillawa Sheild
Each week we would like to report on each of the divisions. This is not always happening, so if you would like to represent your division and send us a report each week on what happened, we would love to print it. It does not have to be long.
Another great day Hughie put on for us, just like the previous week but with more sunshine and a more manageable wind range for the competing yachts. Read more...

Opti Travellers Trophy
MHYC hosted Day 3 of the Travellers Trophy last Sunday 21st November. The series consists of 4 days throughout the course of the spring racing schedule and are tallied up to see who will win. Previous locations have included RPAYC and Canberra YC. It was a great success with 34 optimists showing up to compete and our MHYC kids did not fail to impress with at least one MHYC sailor being in or touching the top five at every mark rounding. Next event for these guys will be the National Test Event up at RPAYC on Dec 4-5.

Know Your Cardinal Marks - Daytime Recognition
Correct identification of Cardinal Marks is vital when navigating a vessel by day and night.
Why? One side is “safe water” and the other side is “danger” and likely - “hard”. The North Cardinal mark indicates that safe water is to the North of the mark, and so on for the South, East and West each indicating the safe passage.
