Middle Harbour Twilight Series 2010-11
MHYC invites entries and crew to participate in the 2010-11 Twilight Season. The Twilight Season commences on Thursday 7th October with the Non-Spinnaker Series and is closely followed by the Friday Spinnaker Series which will commence on the 29th October. The start of racing for both Series is sounded at 1800hrs.
Racing:
This season, a new handicap and starting sequence will be used. The new Toshiba starters board will now display a count up sequence. Boats will be issued a starting number, it is when this number is displayed on the starters board that a boat can commence racing.
Race documents for both Series are available on the Clubs Website and are also published in the MHYC Sailing Handbook. In addition to the Sailing Instructions skippers are reminded to read the MHYC Special Regulations in regards to starting and finishing.
The Thursday Non-Spinnaker Series consists of 24 races and 5 divisions. Post race presentation with awards to all place getters and special awards/prizes from sponsors.
The Friday Spinnaker Series consists of 6 races held in conjunction with the monthly live entertainment (check schedule for dates). Divisions will be formed based on entries recieved. Additional courses have been added to this years Series.
Boat Owners: if you are intending to compete this Thursday, entries are required by close of business Wednesday 6th to allow the Sailing Office to handicap boats. Please note that boats have until Race 4 (Thursday Non-Spinnaker Series) to enter the Series (eligable for pointscore), casuals are welcome prior to 1100hrs on the day of racing. Crewing:
Are you a crew member or looking to join a crew? Twilight racing is a great way to enjoy Sydney Harbour and enjoy the post race festiviites each week at MHYC, all crew are invited to attend the twilight series. Please arrive by 1700hrs to registered your name on the Crew Board in the Breezeway of the Club, The MHYC Flags Officers will assist in matching crew with boats. SPECIAL EVENT - This Friday, 8th October, MHYC will be holding a Meet and Greet evening for those wishing to crew and those skippers requiring crew for the season. This event starts at 1800hrs, all are invited to attend, please RSVP with the Sailing Office.

Weekly Live Bands will commence on the Sandbar Deck from 1930hrs each Thursday and Friday when racing is scheduled.

Several dining options have been planned this season.
The Beach BBQ is back and will be fired up each week providing a range of delicious convenient options, including burgers, sausage sizzle and a range of specials each week.
