Middle Harbour Yacht Club E-Newsletter
Welcome to Middle Harbour Yacht Club E-News. Try Crewing Day last Sunday was a huge success with over 30 people enjoying Middle Harbour Yacht Club, MHYC boats and Sydney Harbour. "Many thanks again for the great day yesterday. We had such a wonderful time. I have wanted to crew for quite some time now but felt too nervous to approach a skipper." Thank you to our members who donated their boats and time to introduce others to the world of sailing!

Sailing Clinic - Performance Based Handicaps
The next Sailing Clinic will be held on Wednesday 22nd September, 2010, at 7.30pm.
Performance Based Handicapping (PHS) Systems have been the back bone of club racing for ever. For years that meant that some dedicated volunteer within the Club took the role of “Club Handicapper” with responsibility for setting the handicaps based on subjective knowledge of the performance of the competitors. Today, with the advent of computers, the subjectivity has been removed and the facility to store data on a yacht’s performance from which the handicap can be derived is available.
Sydney yachtsman John Maclurcan's pioneering work created the prototype for current PHS handicapping. This seminar will benefit both skippers and crew, whether a racer or a cruiser. Please note that this seminar address PHS in general and not event programs specific's.
Cost: $10 members/$20 non members.
Click here to book and pay online.
Please note that the new pricing does not include a light supper. Seabreeze will have a special menu available for participants of the clinics from 6.00pm. To book a table, call 9969 1244.
