Local Hero Owner Peter Mosely Ecstatic Winner of Audi at Hamilton Island Race Week

Peter Mosely topped his winning streak on his ventures travelling on the Northern racing circuit by winning the hotly contested IRC Passage 2 Division and then the Audi A5 Sportsback at the presentation. Speaking to him yesterday he said he was speechless at the presentation he was so elated. He still felt “on top of the World” and was taking his wife down to see the new sportscar. Read more...
MHYC Boats Competing in the Great Trek up North
This year we had quite a few MHYC who decided to avoid the Sydney cold weather and head up to the warmer Queensland race tracks.
Peter Horn’s brand new King 40 boat, Canute was in equal first place in the Audi IRC National Championships after winning their division at Geelong Race Week and placing well in the Audi Sydney Harbour Regatta held by MHYC. Read more...

Sail Past - Saturday 4th September, 2010
The Sail Past will be occur on Saturday 4 September. Join in and “Come Dressed as your Boat Name” - for both crew and boat! Prizes for Best Dressed Crew and Boat. Meet off Wy-ar-gine Point by 11.15am to head back to the club to receive the Flag’s Salute - the final salute from our retiring Commodore, Martin Hill.

Try Crewing Day - Sunday, 12th September 2010
Try Crewing Day is an opportunity for all members of the community to become involved in our sport, while participating as part of a crew, learning the basics of the of sailing and what an easy it is to get into.

Need Crew? Try Crewing Day is your opportunity to find new crew for the season, contact the sailing office if you can assist on the day. Post event BBQ included. MHYC requires the assistance of at least 5 boats on the day.

Mat Belcher and Malcolm Page Season Wrap

Mat Belcher and Malcolm Page, Australia’s Golden Boys, are returning from Europe having accomplished everything that Australia’s best hopes for an Olympic gold medal in sailing could hope for two years prior to the next Olympic Games in London. They have closed out Olympic Class sailing’s rigorous 2010 calendar by claiming the Men’s 470 World Championship and the International Sailing Federation’s (ISAF) World Cup title. They are also in 1st place in the August ISAF rankings. Read more.....
